Join the consortium for Force of Nature, an electrifying new work for wind band composed by Minneapolis composer Clare Howard.

Melissa Choquette, Clare’s former band director, and Erick Knudson, current director at Clare’s alma mater, Twin Cities Academy, have joined forces to help bring this piece to life. Melissa now teaches at E-STEM Middle School.

By joining the Force of Nature consortium, participants agree to the following terms:
Membership Benefits
Consortium members will receive:Exclusive early access to Force of Nature, including a digital download of the full score and parts in PDF format.
One professionally printed physical conductor score shipped to the address provided upon registration.
Performance rights beginning immediately upon receipt of materials.
Delivery Timeline
All consortium members will receive digital materials no later than November 1, 2025. Physical scores will be shipped to arrive shortly thereafter.Performance Rights
Members may perform Force of Nature as often as desired beginning November 1, 2025.
Exclusivity Period
The piece will remain exclusive to consortium members for one calendar year from the release date (until November 1, 2026).
During this time, Force of Nature will not be made publicly available for purchase or rental outside of the consortium.
Duplication and Sharing
Members may make copies of the digital parts for internal use only.
Redistribution of materials outside the purchasing organization is strictly prohibited.
Payment
Consortium fees are due upon registration and are non-refundable.

Meet the Composer

Clare Howard is a Minneapolis-based composer whose music has been performed across the country and internationally. Her work has been featured by esteemed conductors and ensembles, including Jerry Luckhardt’s band at the University of Minnesota; Matthew George and Doug Orzolek’s ensembles at the University of Saint Thomas; and under Erika Svanoe’s direction multiple times, notably with the Encore Wind Ensemble and the UW Stout Wind Symphony.
Clare was named a winner of the Young Composers Competition by the Florida Bandmasters Association, and her music is published through Murphy Music Press and J.W. Pepper.
A 2023 graduate of the University of Saint Thomas, Clare currently studies privately with David Biedenbender (Michigan State University), continuing to expand her voice in contemporary wind and chamber music.
